Marie Claire's Reality Show Running in Heels Stops for No Man (Or Reporter)
At an event at Diane von Furstenberg's store in the Meatpacking District a few weeks ago, guests complained to the Daily Transom of having to duck and shield their faces from cameras that were filming for The City, the new reality show on MTV that will follow former Hills cast-member Whitney Port as she works for DVF and befriends socialite Olivia Palermo.
And last night, the Daily Transom had to do our own share of evading the camera and massive microphones that imposed on guests at the opening of the Comptoir des Cotonniers store in Soho.
A publicist informed us that they were following Marie Claire editor-at-large Joyce Corrigan and an intern for the new Style Network reality show, Running in Heels, which is about the personal and professional lives of the magazine's editors. But wouldn't we, like, have to sign a release before our faces appear disfigured in the bottom corner of people's television screens? Wouldn't they at least have to blur our faces? read more »
InStyle Puts Its Own Spin on Reality Television: Makeup!
The CW’s premiere of Stylista on October 22 featuring Elle magazine’s Anne Slowey is only a few weeks away. Meanwhile, Marie Claire--the new home of former Elle staffer, Nina Garcia—is hard at work on their own reality show about magazine editors, Running in Heels on the Style network. And Project Runway’s television fate is still undecided as Harvey Weinstein continues to battle with Bravo in court about moving the show to Lifetime.
Amidst this fashion magazine-themed reality chaos comes yet another show, this one from In Style magazine. Blush: The Search for the Next Great Make-Up Artist will premiere on Lifetime on November 11, and will feature make-up artists competing for a $100,000 prize and a contract with Max Factor, reports Women's Wear Daily. read more »
Reality Stars Feel at Home at Michael Kors, But What About the Clothes? "I Loved It," Says His Mama

New York City' cast member Kelly
Killoren Bensimon.
At Michael Kors' 10 a.m. fashion show Wednesday, Blake Lively was the obligatory Gossip Girl representative on hand, looking maddeningly fresh. Several seats down, Heidi Klum, Rachel Zoe and actress Joy Bryant chummed it up, snapping pictures and covered their mouths when they spoke to each other (the better to avoid their comments being printed in stories like this one?).
This being a Michael Kors show, almost everyone in the fashion industry who is also involved with reality television was in attendance. A sampling: Ms. Klum is Mr. Kors' co-star on Project Runway, while Ms. Zoe recently visited Mr. Kors on her own reality show, The Rachel Zoe Project, to find a dress for her client, Ms. Bryant! read more »
Slicing the SATC Publicity Pie
The media campaign for the Sex and the City movie, which arrives in theaters May 30, was executed with near-militaristic precision. You might call it “flooding the zone.”
Vogue, which itself has a recurring role in the franchise, easily secured the big kahuna: 43-year-old Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover and an elaborate photo shoot featuring her posing with Chris Noth, 53 (Mr. Big): on top of a skyscraper, on a red carpet, in the bedroom making sex tapes! read more »

Fashion Week Daily has confirmed that Nina Garcia has accepted an offer from Hearst Corporation and will be joining Marie Claire as its new fashion director in the fall. Meanwhile rumors about Marie Claire replacing Elle as Project Runway's sponsor still have not been confirmed, but a source tells FWD that "negotiations are just starting, if even that," and that Ms. read more »
