Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel and American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo will star in Godspell, the first Broadway revival of the musical in 30 years, opening at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Oct. 23.

Mr. Creel got Tony nods for his performances in 2002's Jimmy Smith and this year's best musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie. He'll play Jesus. Ms. Degarmo, who will star as Uzo Aduba, was in the 2004 season of American Idol and her debut single "Dreams" hit No. 1 on the hot singles chart. This will be her second Broadway performance: she was Penny Pingleton in Hairspray.

Also cast: Andrew Arrington, Sara Chase, Celisse Henderson, Joshua Henry (In the Heights) as "Judas," Morgan James, David Josefsberg (Altar Boyz), Telly Leung (Rent), Kyle Post (Rent), Dana Steingold, Maria Thayer (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Daniel Torres (Pirate Queen), according to BroadwayWorld.com.
