So, Did Disturbia Rip Off Rear Window Or What?
We're feeling a little ‘duh' this afternoon after reading news that a lawsuit has been brought against Stephen Spielberg, DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures claiming that their film Disturbia (the surprise 2007 hit starring Shia LaBoeuf as a teen voyeur) ripped off the Hitchcock masterpiece Rear Window. The L.A. Times (via the AP) reports that "The copyright infringement lawsuit, filed Monday in Manhattan, says "Disturbia" copied a short story Cornell Woolrich wrote in 1942 and the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock movie that starred James Stewart and Grace Kelly and was based on the story."

When Bad Things Happen to Good Coverboys
Yesterday, newspapers and websites reported that inexplicably well-known actor Shia LaBeouf had been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after an accident in Los Angeles. Today, without further explanation for why Mr. LaBeouf is famous, there are new reports that suggest that the actor may not have been drunk and the accident may have been the fault of a driver who ran a red light.
This has to be good news for the editors of Details, whose September cover features the continually inexplicably famous actor with the headline "Shia LaBeouf Just Can't Get Laid." If Mr. LaBeouf turns out to be innocent of the charges against him, he may just break the magazine's developing curse on its coverboys. read more »

"She was in the car....They're friends," a source told The New York Daily News. But while Ms. read more »
Criminal Charges Facing Shia LaBeouf Have Been Dropped
Criminal charges facing Shia LaBeouf have just been dropped. The 21-year-old actor got himself into trouble last month for refusing to leave a Chicago Walgreens. After the drug store staff called the police on Nov. 4, the allegedly drunk-acting Transformers star was taken into custody briefly before being released for “very courteous and polite” behavior, according to officials at the time. Mr. LaBeouf only had to appear before the judge for a few minutes this morning, reportedly smiling as he learned that the misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge had been flushed. He next stars alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which opens next year. [AP]

Shia LaBeouf Arrested
In the wee-hours of yesterday morning, actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested in a Chicago Walgreens after the “new Tom Hanks” was apparently acting drunk and refused to leave the store. LeBeouf fans will be pleased to learn that, after he was taken into custody by the police, the actor was “very courteous and polite.” Let’s just hope that the fresh-faced Mr. LaBeouf has no plans to follow cherubic crooner Hillary Duff’s late-night lead! After all, as our own Sara Vilkomerson reported last July, being an “over-hyped youngster” can take its toll.
