Joe Lieberman Is a Great Politician, and Intellectually Dishonest
He is also intellectually corrupt. When he says that America's biggest job is to reach "hearts and minds" across the Arab world and says that this is to be achieved by imposing democracy in Iraq, he has learned nothing from a bloody and horrifying experiment that has weakened America. He knows better. There's one thing that America can do tomorrow to reach hearts and minds across the Arab world, and that is to listen to what those Arabs say they want: for the U.S. to commit itself to a peace process in Israel/Palestine that will end the humiliation of the Palestinians and end attacks on Palestinians and Israelis. That commitment by American leaders might even help in the eventual stabilization of Iraq, indeed in reforming Islamic dictatorships.
Per Haaretz, the recent election has resulted in there being 13 Jews in Lieberman's club, our nation's most elite club, the Senate. That is 10 times the national percentage of Jews, 1.3 percent. This in spite of dire warnings from Gabriel Schoenfeld and Abraham Foxman about the return of anti-Semitism. These guys are simply wrong. The truth is that Americans like Jews in power, trust them with power. The great challenge to Jews in power is to recognize a reality in the Middle East that goes against the ideology of mainstream American Jewry, the Israel lobby, and most of the money that helped Lieberman rewin his seat: Palestinians have been too long denied the right to self-determination. (And the destruction of their hopes is corrupting Israel's soul...)
Yet another polemic from little Phil. He's now worried about Israel losing its soul. The truth is that imposing democracy on the Arabs will fail because their a bunch of blood thirsty lunatics who have constructed a death cult. I know, lets listen to the Arabs, exterminate Israel, and kill all the Jews. That's little Phils plan. It didn't work with the Czechs at Munich and it wouldn't work here. My profound hope is that when Sharia law is imposed in NY little Phil will be the first one put against the wall.

My how that must be hard for you Phil (as well as for the Islamo-fascists on this blog). Because let's face it. Despite all of your best efforts to spread anti-semitism, it just doesn't seem to be taking hold on the American political landscape. And all your shrill accusations of "dual loyalty" aren't making much of an impact either.
So maybe its time for a new job - one you could really be good at. Why not just take the bull by the horns, strap on a suicide belt and go blow up a synagogue or pizza parlor in Israel. Then you'd really make an impact! And you'd get all that news coverage you're so desperately craving (instead of the small handful who read your blog).
Plus, you're Arab friends would love you for murdering innocent Jews, but at the same time, the world would be rid of you. Truly, a win-win situation by any measure.

2. believed naively I now learn, that Israels'military strength was a RESULT of the overwhelming threat surrounding it ,not the CAUSE of it. Silly ME

lieberman is OLD. he knws less about israel than your weird aunt who was a biker in the 70's. AIPAC is the ONLY source for info on the middle east. all seantors and congresspeople know about the same 5 things about the situation and aren't really curious about any more. like truman or whoever said, "I have hundreds of thousands of jewish constuents and not many arab ones."
