Peace in Queens
That's when longtime Democratic insurgent Hiram Monserrate and Democratic County Leader Joe Crowley will attend what I think is their first public event together, announcing funding for local organizations serving immigrants.
Monserrate ran and supported numerous candidates against the county organizations in the past and has reveled in his independence from the machine. Crowley took over the organization earlier this year and has been dogged by speculation that he'd one day have to defend his seat against a candidate who appeals to his district's "changing demographic."
But all that's in the past now, apparently. The advisory for the event is after the jump.

Joe Crowley takes instructions to keep out minorities from Mike Reich and Frank Bolz. Without the guiding discretion/hypocrisy of Tom Manton,they have become arrogantly dismissive of minorities. Crowley should see the writing on the wall. Monserrate, Shirley Huntley, Allan Jennings-all won without county's help, actually beating county's endorsed candidates in most instances. Keep it up, Hiram. We will back you for Congressman. Change the stench from the top!
That's the awful truth. Real sleazy stuff! I saw where Reich has said that he will not support the Democrat insurgent who got 49% of the vote against that dinosaur Serphin Maltese. The problem with that candidate-Baldeo, I believe his name is-is that he is not white, and not a proven insider.
Hiram Monserrate and Albert Baldeo can change politics in Queens! Then those bastards have to listen to the grass roots. Why wait until these scums are indicted? Kick them out now!
I seem to recall Monserrate at County every day back in 2001 when he first ran for the Council seat. Correct me if I am wrong, but back in those days, Hiram could not stop kissing Mike's and Frank's rear ends. Likely because they cleared the ballot for him to run for his coveted seat.
If he thinks he could win a Congressional seat, he is dreaming.
Why should anyone have to kiss Mike Reich's and Frank Bolz's rear ends? Look what a successful councilman Monserrate turned out/proved to be, more than the reps. county kissed up to-Ada Smith and co. Shame on Reich and Bolz-power to the grass roots.
