UPDATE: The AP just reported that the Senator in question is Efrain Gonzalez Jr.
Also, an apology: My original post here said that the Senator was rumored to have been Ruben Diaz Sr., and included a response from his office saying that the only people to have contacted them about the investigation were reporters. It turns out that there was a reason for that.
Wow -- your sources are rather dubious. You might want to exchange them for a better model -- all the other blogs have id'd the Senator as Gonzales.
In this age of instant communication, there is always the problem of mistakes. Please don't accuse electeds until youve got the story cold. A reputation is a terrible thing to smear--especially by mistake!
Nassau and David - in case you didn't know, DIAZ is under investigation as well - both of them are crooked. Is one indictment better than two?
