Reconciled in Brooklyn

Memories, it seems, are short in Brooklyn.

Just last year, Assemblyman Dov Hikind campaigned, hard, against the incumbent district attorney, Joe Hynes, and for the organization candidate, John Sampson.

But on April 2, Dov will be presenting awards at the Boro Park Jewish Community Council’s legislative breakfast, including the "distinguished guardian award for integrity in government" to... one Charles J. Hynes. A reader who followed those Brooklyn races recalls that that wasn’t exactly what Hikind was saying about Hynes at the time.

So I guess we count on the Hikind indictment anytime soon

One can hope....and I am sure that Hynes will scrub his hands after shaking Hikind’s.

Hikind & Hynes perfect together. What a disgrace on Hynes part to go to him.

Amazing how some Brooklyn politicos never learn. Still trying to control non-profits and no-show jobs. And now Hikind is making up with Hynes and endorsing Spitzer early. What a way to avoid the grand jury.

Does anyone really think that giving Joe Hynes a plaque is going to make him stop holding a grudge. Joe Hynes carries a grudge like a concealed weapon (only he doesn’t conceal it).

Joe Hynes stores each and every grievance and grudge, large and small, in the back of his mind, letting them ripen and deepen with each passing year, like a fine wine stored in the cellar. Hikind is just a bottle of Extra Heavy Malaga waiting before it reaches its prime level of sweetness.

The problem is, when you’re a Brooklyn organization giving out a "distinguished guardian award for integrity in government," you don’t have a lot of appropriate recipients to choose from (he said cynically).

Hey, whatever happened to that Brooklyn Politics column?

Doesn’t this story make you want to throw up?

What ever happen to investigative journalism?
Erik
The Courier Life dumbing down on politics. Newfield gone. Barrett not writing anymore.
Larry Silverstein hiring Roberto Ramirez.
And the press today is clueless.

There are like 20 honorees at that breakfast, that’s insane.
