I agree with Mr Ross' comments and have noticed tht some people wanting to be more than they are are drawn to church membership and attending orchestral and opertic concerts.
In the 19 years I leved in Chicago I only made it to Orchestra Hall twice as a guest of a fellow classical lover. We sat in the top balcony and I noticed that many in attendance came in blue jeans and tattered outer garments.
I nlooked down to the "orchestra seats" to see how many similarly clother listeners might be there but didn't see nay. There are those like myself that have loved the classics since our mid-teens and still today at age 70 still feel the same way. My list of composers has increased greatly and the only ones I avoid are Philip Glass and similar writers of music[?]
