On Sunday afternoon, Sept. 7, at Herve Leger's Spring '09 show, the Daily Transom was—shivers of excitement!—seated across from a front row filled with uptown gals.

From left to right, in exact order, were: Genevieve Jones, Derek Blasberg, Fabiola Beracasa, Lauren Remington Platt, Zani Gugelmann, and Maggie Betts. (One of the chairs was labeled "Arden Wohl," but alas she never showed.)

Ms. Platt, clad in a binding (and blinding) white Herve dress with black detail, had arrived by herself and unfashionably early. There she was standing in line up for nearly twenty minutes like everyone else waiting to be let into the Promenade, looking around and checking the time periodically.

As the show began and models began strutting down the runway in the label's signature sausage-casing-like mini-dresses, Ms. Betts began bopping her head to Tone Loc's "Wild Thing."

During the bathing-suit portion of the show, one mannequin's left nipple popped out of her top, prompting uneasy titters from the crowd. She marched on without addressing the wardrobe malfunction (exposing nearly her entire breast in the process), as the model following her, surely wanting to save herself such an embarrassment, yanked subtly at her own top.

After the show was over, Ms. Platt walked out with a gentleman and asked him for a favor.

"Could you check the back of my dress?" she asked. "Just make sure that it's all still white in the back."

“Yes, you’re fine,” he said.

Gotta love the bandage dress! It's said to hold everything in just right...from your post, I wonder if that's true. And, that poor model! I checked out the pic on Getty Images. Yow!
Here's a post about the history of the bandage dress and some affordable alternatives (since we can't all afford a $1500 dress).
