Hey Azi,
Didn't you or any other enterprising reporters notice that Speaker Quinn had to "game" the vote on the State and Federal Legislation committee to get it out of committe?
The speaker added 2 new members to the committee, Seabrook and Viverito, so she could get it out of committee. She didn't orginally have enough votes, so in true good government and transparent fashion, she secretly added the 2 members over the last few weeks to ensure she could get it out of committee.
Wonder what the NY Times and the Good Government Groups think of changing the composition of the committees to get legislation out of the committee...
I'm sure no one will write about it though....
I agree, thats deff not more important than prostitutes or past drug use.
Where I disagree is that it shouldn't be up to the NY Times, Good Government Groups, or the media in general to bring these thing public; it should have been our legislators. This decision was stolen from Finance in the first place. And where we Finance Committee Members or even the ever so opposed Chair? NOWHERE. Not a peep, even from the Chair. Spineless and a stupid move all around. Whether or not you are for or against congestion pricing, voters will remember if you had a backbone during this issue- especially when the topic is half your campaign pitch.
