State Unveils Moynihan Station Plans

The Empire State Development Corporation today unveiled its plans to turn the Farley Post Office into a major transit hub named after the late U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

Details of the plan and the public review process, which starts today, can be found here.

Here's a tidbit we didn't know: Penn Station, which will be rebuilt and expanded as part of the Moynihan Station plans, is the nation's busiest passenger transportation facility, handling more passengers than Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty airports combined.

No wonder those waits for Amtrak are so long.
